The 1994–1998 Maserati Quattroporte 2.0 offers a particularly interesting combination of executive-sedan practicality and compact turbocharged performance. As a four-door, five-seat Maserati with a front-mounted engine and rear-wheel drive, it retains the traditional layout associated with the marque while using a smaller-displacement V6 than some of its larger-engined siblings. The result is a sedan that pairs everyday usability with a distinctly Italian performance character.
Its 2.0-liter turbocharged V6 produces 302 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque, working through a six-speed manual transmission. The Quattroporte 2.0 reaches 162 mph and accelerates from 0–60 mph in 5.7 seconds, impressive figures for a five-seat sedan of its era. MacPherson struts are used at both ends, while 17.5 cubic feet of luggage space gives the car useful carrying capacity. The combination of rear-wheel drive, strong turbocharged output, and full-size sedan practicality makes this Quattroporte an unusual performance-oriented executive car.
