The Stinger 2.2 CRDi brought a very different rhythm to Kia’s low-slung fastback. Instead of chasing the outright performance of the petrol engines, its diesel powertrain suited drivers who valued strong pulling power and relaxed cruising. The long body, spacious five-seat cabin and useful rear hatch already gave the Stinger genuine grand-tourer credentials; the diesel simply shifted its priorities toward covering distance efficiently. It was an unusual pairing for a performance-shaped car, but that contrast is part of what makes this version interesting.
For 2018–2026, the Stinger 2.2 CRDi uses a turbocharged 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel producing 197 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels, giving the fastback a 7.1-second 0–60 mph time and a 143-mph top speed. The generous torque arrives early, making this Stinger particularly suited to effortless motorway cruising and overtaking.
