The Stinger GT S was an unusual move for Kia: instead of following the usual recipe for a family-oriented brand, it created a long, low fastback aimed squarely at the grand-touring market. The sleek roofline gave it the presence of a performance car, while the five-seat cabin and hatchback rear added genuine everyday usefulness. What made the GT S particularly interesting was how naturally its muscular character fitted the Stinger’s rear-wheel-drive architecture, giving Kia a serious high-performance flagship without resorting to a conventional coupé body.
Introduced in 2018, the GT S 3.3 T-GDi V6 packs a twin-turbo 3.3-liter V6 producing 365 hp and 376 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic drives the rear wheels, sending the fastback from 0–60 mph in 4.6 seconds and onward to 168 mph. Those numbers give the Stinger the performance credentials to match its striking proportions while retaining its grand-touring purpose.
