The Triumph GT6 combines the proportions of a compact British sports coupe with the distinctive character of a front-mounted six-cylinder engine. Its long bonnet, fastback roofline, and close-coupled two-seat cabin give it a purposeful appearance, while the rear-wheel-drive layout follows a traditional sports-car formula. Rather than relying on size or luxury, the GT6 centres its appeal on compact dimensions, mechanical simplicity, and an engaging driving character. It remains a distinctive example of the British sports coupes developed during the 1960s.
For the 1966–1968 model range, the GT6 uses a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre inline-six producing 95 hp at 5,000 rpm and 117 lb-ft of torque at 3,000 rpm. Its four-speed manual transmission drives the rear wheels. AutoSpecsHub lists a top speed of 106 mph and a 0–60 mph time of 11.6 seconds. With a curb weight of 1,905 lbs and combined fuel economy of 20.8 mpg, this two-seat coupe pairs modest weight with traditional six-cylinder performance.
