The Triumph GT6+ refined the original GT6 formula with a distinctive fastback silhouette, compact two-seat cabin, and the character of a traditional British sports coupe. Its long bonnet and front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout give it purposeful proportions, while revised suspension reflects the development of the model beyond its earlier version. Rather than relying on size or luxury, the GT6+ centres its appeal on compact dimensions, responsive sports-car character, and a distinctive six-cylinder soundtrack. It remains an interesting chapter in the evolution of British performance coupes.
For the 1968–1970 model range, the GT6+ uses a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre inline-six producing 104 hp at 5,300 rpm and 117 lb-ft of torque at 3,000 rpm. A four-speed manual transmission drives the rear wheels. AutoSpecsHub records a top speed of 112 mph and a 0–60 mph time of 10.2 seconds. With a listed curb weight of 2,015 lbs and combined fuel economy of 23.3 mpg, this compact coupe combines traditional six-cylinder power with modest overall weight.
