The Peugeot 1007 takes an unconventional approach to small-car practicality, combining compact dimensions with a distinctive body shape and sliding doors that separate it from traditional hatchbacks. Its upright proportions and thoughtfully arranged cabin are designed to make everyday use easier, particularly in urban environments where parking space can be limited. The five-seat interior and flexible luggage capacity help maximise its modest footprint, while the unusual door arrangement gives the car a character of its own. Rather than prioritising sporty performance, the 1007 focuses on accessibility, convenience and functional design.
Produced from 2005 to 2010, the 1007 75 is powered by a naturally aspirated 1.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 72 hp and 87 lb-ft of torque. Power reaches the front wheels through a five-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission, depending on configuration. MacPherson strut front suspension and trailing-arm rear suspension support its everyday driving character. With a reported 0–62 mph time of 15.6 seconds and a top speed of 103 mph, it delivers modest performance suited to routine commuting. Its sliding doors and practical packaging remain central to its appeal.
