The 2008–2014 BMW 123d Cabrio is a compact diesel convertible powered by a 2.0-liter bi-turbo inline-four engine producing 201 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. The N47D20 engine uses DOHC, 16 valves, and common-rail fuel delivery, with peak power arriving at 4,400 rpm and peak torque at 2,000 rpm. Its rear-wheel-drive layout is available with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. With a 17.7 lb/hp power-to-weight ratio, the 123d Cabrio accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 7.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 143 mph.
The BMW 123d Cabrio combines its efficient bi-turbo diesel drivetrain with a four-seat open-top cabin and 10.8 ft³ of luggage space.
