The second-generation Morgan Aero 8 represents a fresh chapter for a marque known for its hand-built sports cars. Its proportions remain unmistakably Morgan, with a long bonnet, compact cabin and sculpted rear, but the design feels more refined and contemporary than the company’s earlier roadsters. The open cockpit puts the emphasis firmly on the driving experience, while the aluminium construction and muscular V8 give this traditional British sports car a distinctly modern performance character. It is an unusual combination of old-world craftsmanship and serious speed, appealing to drivers who want individuality rather than the familiar formula of a mass-produced luxury convertible.
For 2015–2018, the Aero 8 is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.8-liter V8 producing 362 hp and 361 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels, helping the two-seat convertible reach a claimed top speed of 170 mph. Its 0–60 mph time of 4.1 seconds underlines the strength of the V8, while double-wishbone front suspension and multi-link rear suspension help balance its performance with composed handling.
