The 2020–2022 McLaren Elva takes the idea of an open supercar to an unusually focused extreme. With no conventional roof and a remarkably exposed driving environment, it places the sensation of speed at the center of the experience. Its sculpted body, minimal cabin and rear-mid-engine layout give it the character of a lightweight track-inspired machine, while the absence of a traditional windscreen on early versions makes it one of the most distinctive cars in McLaren’s Ultimate Series. The Elva is less about conventional luxury and more about creating an immersive connection between driver, machine and road.
A 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 produces 804 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels through a seven-speed transmission. It reaches 203 mph and accelerates from 0–60 mph in 2.7 seconds. At just 2,798 pounds, its low weight complements the enormous power output and helps define its sharp performance character. Double-wishbone suspension at both ends completes the focused chassis, making the Elva an exceptionally pure expression of McLaren’s lightweight, open-air performance philosophy.
