1980, 1981, 1982
MSRP:$30,000 – $45,000
The 1980–1982 Ferrari Mondial 8 brings Ferrari’s mid-engine sports-car character into a practical four-seat layout, powered by a naturally aspirated 2.9-liter V8 producing 211 hp and 179 lb-ft of torque. With rear-wheel drive and a 5-speed manual transmission, it reaches 60 mph in 6.3 seconds and continues to a 143 mph top speed. The rear-mid-mounted Dino (F106 B) engine uses DOHC and multi-point fuel injection, giving the Mondial 8 a distinctive combination of Ferrari performance and usable road-car character.
Its double-wishbone suspension at both ends and vented disc brakes front and rear support the car’s sporting layout, while the 3,263-pound curb weight keeps the package relatively focused. The Mondial 8 seats four and provides 10.6 ft³ of luggage space, with dimensions of 180.3 × 70.5 × 49.2 inches and a 104.3-inch wheelbase. A 22.2-gallon fuel tank complements its 12.7 mpg combined economy and 282-mile total range.
