The 1992–1994 Alfa Romeo 33 Sport Wagon Q4 combined the practicality of a five-door estate with the performance and traction of Alfa Romeo’s Permanent 4 system. It was one of the most distinctive versions of the 33 range, using the 1.7-liter 16-valve boxer engine together with all-wheel drive and a five-speed manual transmission.
The Q4 designation is what sets this Sport Wagon apart. Its four-wheel-drive system gave the compact estate added traction while the 132-PS boxer provided enough performance to make the car genuinely sporting. With a 0–100 km/h time of around 9 seconds and a 196 km/h top speed, it offered a particularly unusual combination of everyday carrying ability and enthusiast-focused engineering. The result was a practical Alfa Romeo with a much more purposeful character than an ordinary family wagon.
