1991–1992 Austin Montego 2.0i Countryman Wagon Specs & Performance

The Montego 2.0i Countryman Wagon brought the character of Austin’s fuel-injected 2.0-liter engine into a more versatile estate body. Producing 113 hp and 128 lb-ft, the naturally aspirated inline-four drove the front wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox. With a 112 mph top speed and 9.4-second 0–60 mph time, it offered useful performance while retaining the practicality expected from a family wagon.

For 1991–1992, the Countryman combined five-door access with seating for five and 18.4 ft³ of luggage capacity. MacPherson struts at the front and trailing-arm rear suspension provided a conventional chassis arrangement, while disc front brakes and rear drums kept the braking system straightforward. At 2,546 pounds, the wagon remained reasonably light, and its transverse-mounted engine and electronic fuel injection gave it a more developed powertrain than some of the simpler Montego variants.
