1991–1992 Austin Montego MG 2.0i Specs & Performance

The Montego MG 2.0i gave Austin’s family saloon a more energetic character through a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated inline-four with fuel injection. Producing 113 hp and 128 lb-ft, it drove the front wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and reached 115 mph. Its 8.9-second 0–60 mph time was respectable for a practical four-door saloon, while the naturally aspirated engine kept the power delivery straightforward.

For 1991–1992, the Montego combined that performance with the spaciousness expected from a family-oriented sedan. MacPherson struts at the front and trailing-arm rear suspension were paired with front disc and rear drum brakes, while 18.4 ft³ of luggage capacity provided useful carrying space. With five seats, a 13.2-gallon fuel tank and a 2,403-pound curb weight, the MG 2.0i balanced everyday practicality with a modest sporting edge.
