1994–1995 Austin Montego Wagon GTD Specs & Performance

The Montego Wagon GTD carried Austin’s practical estate formula into a more economical diesel configuration, using a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four producing 81 hp and 117 lb-ft. Power reached the front wheels through a five-speed manual transmission, giving the wagon a 100 mph top speed and 13.7-second 0–60 mph time. Its emphasis was not outright acceleration, but combining useful torque with the carrying ability expected from a family estate.

The 1994–1995 model offered five doors, five seats and a flexible 18–30.4 ft³ luggage area, making its wagon body particularly useful for everyday transport. MacPherson strut front suspension, a torsion-beam rear layout, vented front discs and rear drums formed a straightforward chassis package. At 2,734 pounds, it remained reasonably manageable, while the turbo-diesel engine and 13.2-gallon tank suited longer-distance driving and practical ownership.
