Practicality was the Venga’s central idea, and the 1.6 CRDi showed how that concept could work with a more substantial diesel engine. Its tall proportions created a useful, airy cabin without requiring a large footprint, making the car well suited to everyday family duties and crowded urban streets. The stronger diesel option also changed the way the Venga felt on longer journeys, giving this compact MPV enough low-rev pulling power to carry passengers and luggage without relying on high engine speeds.
The 2010–2015 Venga 1.6 CRDi uses a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder diesel producing 126 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual gearbox sends power to the front wheels, with 0–60 mph taking 10.7 seconds and top speed reaching 113 mph. Those figures give the practical Kia a useful balance of economy and everyday performance without moving it away from its family-focused purpose.
