The Venga 1.6 CVVT was the version that gave Kia’s compact MPV a little more breathing room on faster roads. Its tall, upright shape was primarily about making the cabin useful, but the larger naturally aspirated engine meant drivers did not have to sacrifice responsiveness for that practicality. The straightforward petrol setup also kept the character familiar and predictable, fitting a car intended to handle school runs, shopping trips and everyday commuting without unnecessary complexity.
For 2010–2015, the Venga 1.6 CVVT uses a naturally aspirated 1.6-liter inline-four producing 123 hp and 115 lb-ft of torque. Power goes through either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic to the front wheels, with the manual reaching 60 mph in 10.5 seconds and topping out at 113 mph. The engine’s uncomplicated delivery suits the Venga’s easygoing family-focused role.
