Kia took a different approach to the small family car with the Venga, emphasizing useful space and an upright, airy cabin rather than sporty proportions. Its compact footprint made it easy to place in urban traffic, while the tall body and flexible interior gave it the practical feel of a much larger vehicle. The diesel version added another dimension to the formula: instead of chasing performance, it was designed around relaxed everyday driving, useful low-speed pulling power and economical long-distance travel.
The 2010–2012 Venga 1.4 CRDi uses a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder diesel producing 89 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual transmission drives the front wheels, with 0–60 mph taking 14 seconds and a 104-mph top speed. Its modest output suits the Venga’s practical mission, where efficiency and usable torque matter more than outright acceleration.
