The Ultima Evolution LS3 delivers the British marque’s lightweight, mid-engined approach in a two-seat supercar built around a Chevrolet V8. Its compact coupe body sits on a tubular spaceframe chassis, with composite bodywork and double-wishbone suspension helping keep the package focused on handling as well as straight-line speed. Like other Ultima models, the Evolution was offered in different build configurations, so its performance depends on the engine and equipment selected.
This LS3 version uses a naturally aspirated 6.2-litre V8 producing 480 hp at 6,250 rpm and 479 lb·ft of torque at 5,300 rpm. A six-speed manual transaxle sends power to the rear wheels, with the engine mounted longitudinally behind the occupants. AutoSpecsHub lists a 3.1-second 0–60 mph time and a 180 mph top speed for this specification. Its combination of substantial V8 torque and low weight gives the LS3 a distinctly purposeful character.
