The Q50 3.0t gave Infiniti’s executive sedan a sharper performance edge without abandoning its role as a comfortable four-door. Its understated proportions conceal a much more serious powertrain than the styling initially suggests, with a twin-turbo V6 replacing the naturally aspirated engines associated with earlier Q50 versions. Rear-wheel drive keeps the setup traditional, while the longitudinal engine layout reinforces the sedan’s performance-oriented architecture. The result is a Q50 that can move from quiet commuter to genuinely rapid sports sedan without changing its basic character.
For 2016–2018, the Q50 3.0t uses a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 producing 399 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. A seven-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels, with peak torque arriving at 1,600 rpm. The sedan reaches 155 mph and accelerates from 0–60 mph in 4.9 seconds, giving this Infiniti the pace to match its sophisticated luxury-sedan platform.
