The 1963–1966 Maserati Mistral is one of the marque’s classic grand tourers, combining elegant Italian coachwork with the mechanical character of Maserati’s competition-bred heritage. Its low, purposeful shape and compact two-seat cabin give it a distinctly sporting presence, while the front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout reflects the traditional grand-touring formula of the era. Designed by Pietro Frua, the Mistral has a particularly graceful identity that makes it stand apart from the larger and more formal Maserati models of its time.
A naturally aspirated 3.7-liter inline-six produces 245 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque, with power delivered through a five-speed manual or three-speed automatic transmission. The Mistral reaches 152 mph and accelerates from 0–60 mph in 6.2 seconds, giving this elegant coupé impressive performance for its period. Its double-wishbone front suspension and live-axle rear layout complete a traditional sporting chassis. The result is a refined yet purposeful grand tourer that combines classic Maserati performance with timeless Italian design.
