The Jaguar XK-E Coupe captured the essence of the early E-Type in its most focused fixed-roof form. With a long bonnet, compact cabin and smoothly tapered tail, the Series 1 coupe looked every bit like a purpose-built sports car rather than a conventional grand tourer. The enclosed body also gave Jaguar a more intimate performance machine, while the straight-six and independent suspension provided the mechanical sophistication to match its celebrated styling. It is a classic example of Jaguar combining visual elegance with genuinely serious road performance.
The 1964–1968 XK-E Coupe uses a naturally aspirated 4.2-liter inline-six producing 265 hp and 283 lb-ft of torque. A four-speed manual transmission drives the rear wheels, with 0–60 mph taking 7.0 seconds and top speed reaching 150 mph. Its front-engine layout, two-seat cabin and independent rear suspension preserve the focused character of this early fixed-head E-Type.
