The 4.2 XK-E 2+2 added a more practical dimension to Jaguar’s famous E-Type without abandoning the sleek character that made the model so distinctive. Its extended cabin created room for occasional rear passengers, while the long bonnet and flowing fastback profile preserved the visual drama of the original sports car. Underneath, Jaguar’s larger straight-six brought stronger torque and effortless cruising ability, making this version particularly suited to drivers who wanted E-Type style with a little more everyday flexibility.
The 1966–1968 XK-E 2+2 uses a naturally aspirated 4.2-liter inline-six producing 265 hp and 283 lb-ft of torque. A four-speed manual or three-speed automatic sends power to the rear wheels, with 0–60 mph taking 7.6 seconds and top speed reaching 150 mph. Its front-engine layout, independent suspension and four-seat 2+2 cabin give this E-Type a distinctly grand-touring character.
