1975, 1976
MSRP:$60,000 – $90,000
The 1975 Jensen Interceptor Coupé carried the classic grand-tourer formula into the final years of the Series III, combining imposing proportions with a large-displacement American V8. Its long, low two-door body and rear-wheel-drive layout gave it the traditional architecture of a high-speed touring car, while the front-mounted longitudinal engine reinforced its distinctly old-school character. With room for four and a substantial 105-inch wheelbase, the Interceptor balanced dramatic performance with the comfort expected from a luxury grand tourer.
For 1975–1976, the Interceptor Coupé uses a naturally aspirated 7.2-liter V8 producing 330 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque at 2,400 rpm. A 3-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels, helping it reach 130 mph and accelerate from 0–60 mph in 7.8 seconds. Its 10 mpg combined economy reflects the large V8, while the 3,505-pound curb weight gives the Coupé a substantial and purposeful grand-touring character.
