1974, 1975, 1976
MSRP:$90,000 – $140,000
The 1974 Jensen Interceptor Convertible brought the dramatic character of the Interceptor into an open-top grand touring format, combining long, elegant proportions with a powerful American V8. Its two-door, four-seat layout gave it a distinctive blend of luxury and sporting presence, while rear-wheel drive and a longitudinal front-mounted engine preserved the traditional grand-tourer architecture. With its substantial dimensions and classic mechanical layout, the Interceptor Convertible offered a very different interpretation of open-air performance.
For 1974–1976, the Interceptor Convertible uses a naturally aspirated 7.2-liter V8 producing 330 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque at 2,400 rpm. A 3-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels, helping it reach 130 mph and accelerate from 0–60 mph in 7.8 seconds. Its 10 mpg combined economy reflects the large-displacement V8, while the 3,505-pound curb weight gives this convertible a substantial grand-touring character.
