The Jensen Interceptor opened the marque’s grand-touring story with elegant convertible styling and a substantial 4.0-liter naturally aspirated inline-six. Its Austin D-Series engine produces 130 hp at 3,700 rpm and 212 lb-ft of torque at 2,200 rpm, sending power to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission. For 1950–1957, the two-door Interceptor reaches a listed 95 mph and accelerates from 0–60 mph in 13 seconds, giving this early British grand tourer a relaxed but purposeful character.
Its double-wishbone front suspension and live rear axle are paired with drum brakes at both ends and 600 × 16 tyres. The four-seat cabin provides 25 ft³ of luggage space, while its 3,358-pound curb weight gives the convertible a substantial road presence. Measuring 188 inches long, 66 inches wide, and 58 inches tall on a 112.2-inch wheelbase, it carries a 12.9-gallon fuel tank and returns a listed 20 mpg combined, providing a 258-mile total range.
