The Iso Grifo 365 was created around a compelling Italian-American partnership: elegant Italian coachwork wrapped around the muscle of a Chevrolet V8. Its long bonnet, low roofline and clean fastback shape gave it the presence of a classic grand tourer, while the larger-output engine pushed the Grifo into genuinely serious performance territory. Iso’s approach was refreshingly different from the increasingly sophisticated machinery coming from other Italian marques, relying on proven American mechanical strength beneath a carefully styled Italian body.
The 1965–1968 Grifo 365 uses a naturally aspirated 5.4-liter Chevrolet 327 V8 producing 360 hp and 360 lb-ft of torque. A four-speed manual gearbox drives the rear wheels, while the car reaches 162 mph and completes 0–60 mph in 6.2 seconds. Its front-mid-engine layout and De Dion rear suspension reinforce the balance between high-speed grand touring and sporting intent.
