The Triumph TR7 Coupé introduced a different interpretation of the British sports car, replacing rounded traditional lines with a distinctive wedge-shaped profile. Its low nose, angular bodywork and retractable headlights create an unmistakable silhouette, while the compact two-seat cabin keeps the focus on the driver. The front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout gives the car a conventional sporting arrangement, supported by MacPherson strut front suspension and a live rear axle.
Produced from 1975–1977, the TR7 Coupé is powered by a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated inline-four gasoline engine with SOHC valvetrain and carburetor fuel delivery. It produces 105 hp at 5,500 rpm and 119 lb-ft of torque at 3,500 rpm. Power reaches the rear wheels through a four-speed manual or three-speed automatic transmission. The car accelerates from 0–60 mph in 9.3 seconds and reaches a 109 mph top speed. Its 9.9 cubic feet of luggage space adds useful practicality to this compact two-seat sports coupé.
