1984–1992 Austin Maestro 2.0i EFi Specs & Performance

The Maestro 2.0i EFi brought a more sophisticated powertrain to Austin’s practical hatchback range, using a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated inline-four with electronic fuel injection. With 113 hp and 128 lb-ft, it could reach 113 mph and accelerate from 0–60 mph in 8.3 seconds, while a five-speed manual transmission sent power to the front wheels. That combination gave the compact hatchback useful performance without abandoning everyday usability.

Introduced in 1984, the car paired its engine with MacPherson strut front suspension and a trailing-arm rear layout, along with vented front discs and rear drum brakes. The five-door body offered seating for five and 10.6 ft³ of luggage capacity, while its 2,293-pound curb weight helped keep the performance accessible. The result was a practical British hatchback with considerably more character than its conventional appearance suggested.
