The TVR Griffith 4.0i is a British sports convertible built around a traditional front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout. Its low-slung body, long bonnet and compact two-seat cabin give it the proportions of a focused roadster, while the double-wishbone suspension at both ends reflects its performance-oriented design. A five-speed manual transmission keeps the driving experience firmly centred on driver involvement rather than convenience or outright luxury.
For 1993–1994, this Griffith uses a 3.9-litre naturally aspirated V8, despite the 4.0i badge. Its OHV valvetrain and single-point fuel injection support an output of 237 hp at 5,250 rpm and 270 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm. Power reaches the rear wheels through the five-speed manual gearbox. AutoSpecsHub lists a 0–60 mph time of 5.2 seconds and a 151 mph top speed. The two-seat cabin also provides 8.8 cubic feet of luggage space.
