The 2001–2006 Lamborghini Murciélago marked the beginning of a new era for Lamborghini’s flagship V12 supercar. Its sharp, muscular bodywork, low-slung proportions and rear-mid-engine layout gave the car a modern interpretation of Lamborghini’s traditional V12 formula. The two-seat coupe combined dramatic styling with all-wheel drive and a powerful naturally aspirated engine, establishing the Murciélago as a defining model in Lamborghini’s flagship supercar range.
The 2001–2006 Murciélago uses a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V12 producing 572 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed transmission sends power to all four wheels, with 0–60 mph taking 3.5 seconds and top speed reaching 206 mph. Its combination of V12 power, all-wheel drive and rear-mid-engine layout gave the Murciélago a strong performance foundation for Lamborghini’s flagship range.
