The CCX Edition marked a more specialized chapter in Koenigsegg’s early supercar story, taking the already extreme CCX and giving it an even more focused performance character. Its removable roof panel preserved the freedom of the CC family, while the rear-mid-engine layout and lightweight construction kept the engineering centered on speed rather than luxury. The result was a remarkably compact machine for its performance, with the kind of proportions and mechanical simplicity that now make these early Koenigseggs especially distinctive.
For 2006–2010, the CCX Edition uses a supercharged 4.8-liter V8 producing 888 hp and 693 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed transmission drives the rear wheels, allowing 0–60 mph in 2.9 seconds and a 250-mph top speed. With its 4.8-liter V8 mounted behind the cabin and power sent exclusively to the rear axle, the Edition delivers the raw, direct character expected from Koenigsegg’s early road-going hypercars.
