The CCXR Edition represented Koenigsegg’s idea of taking an already extreme supercar and turning every detail toward exclusivity and sharper performance. Only four examples were produced, each distinguished by visible carbon construction, bespoke aerodynamics and specially tuned suspension. The car retained the removable-roof character of the CC family, but its 11-spoke wheels, unique rear wing and side winglets gave the Edition a more focused presence. It was not simply a cosmetic special edition; Koenigsegg developed it to improve performance on both the road and track.
For 2008–2010, the CCXR Edition uses a 4.8-liter twin-supercharged V8 producing 1,018 hp and 797 lb-ft of torque on E85/E100 fuel. A six-speed transmission drives the rear wheels, with 0–60 mph in 2.8 seconds and a 250-mph estimated top speed. Its combination of immense output, low weight and flex-fuel capability made this one of the most technically ambitious versions of the CCX family.
