1988–1994 Alpina 7 Series B12 5.0 Specs & Performance

The 1988–1994 Alpina 7 Series B12 5.0 transformed the E32 750i into a more focused and exclusive grand sedan. ALPINA retained the 5.0-liter V12 but extensively revised its internals, including higher-compression Mahle pistons, larger inlet valves, revised valve timing and a reprogrammed engine management system. The result was 350 hp and 470 Nm, giving the B12 considerably more performance than the standard 750i while retaining the smooth character expected of a V12 luxury car. A reworked four-speed automatic transmission and ALPINA-tuned suspension further sharpened its response.

Despite its understated appearance, the B12 5.0 was genuinely fast for its era, with a claimed 0–100 km/h time of 6.9 seconds and a top speed exceeding 275 km/h. Subtle ALPINA touches included 17-inch wheels, distinctive instrumentation, sport seats and revised aerodynamics rather than an aggressive visual makeover. With only 305 examples produced, the B12 5.0 combines the refinement of the E32 7 Series with the engineering depth and exclusivity that made ALPINA special.
