1993–1994 Alpina 7 Series B11 4.0 Specs & Performance

The 1993–1994 Alpina 7 Series B11 4.0 was created as the successor to the B11 3.5, giving the E32 7 Series a much stronger V8-powered character. Its 4.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 produced 315 hp and 410 Nm, with power sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission. ALPINA also developed the chassis around the extra performance, preserving the refined nature of the large sedan while making it more responsive and engaging.

What makes the B11 4.0 especially remarkable is its rarity. Introduced in May 1993 and discontinued less than a year later, only seven examples were built. Despite its discreet appearance, it could accelerate from 0–100 km/h in 7.1 seconds and reach 260 km/h. That combination of understated styling, V8 power and extremely limited production makes the B11 4.0 one of the rarest E32-based ALPINA models, and a particularly significant chapter in the company's evolution of BMW's luxury sedans.
