1995–1998 Alpina 7 Series B12 5.7 Specs & Performance

The 1995–1998 Alpina 7 Series B12 5.7 took the newly introduced E38 7 Series and gave its V12 a distinctly ALPINA character. The engine was enlarged to 5.6 liters and extensively reworked with higher-compression pistons, revised cylinder heads and a modified intake system, producing 382 hp and 560 Nm. A five-speed automatic transmission with ALPINA's SWITCH-TRONIC system delivered that power to the rear wheels, combining effortless acceleration with the relaxed nature expected from a flagship luxury sedan.

The B12 5.7 was also more than an engine upgrade. ALPINA gave the E38 its own wheels, suspension calibration and subtle exterior details, creating a performance sedan that remained remarkably discreet. With a claimed 0–100 km/h time of 6.4 seconds and a 280 km/h top speed, it had serious pace while preserving the comfort and refinement of the 7 Series. That blend of V12 smoothness, understated design and carefully developed performance makes the B12 5.7 one of the defining ALPINA sedans of the E38 era.
