The TVR Chimaera is a British sports convertible that combines classic open-top proportions with the character of a naturally aspirated V8. Its long bonnet, low stance and flowing bodywork create a purposeful appearance, while the folding soft top provides an engaging open-air driving experience. The two-seat cabin keeps the focus on the driver, and the front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout preserves a traditional sports-car configuration. Double-wishbone suspension at both ends supports its sporting character and relaxed road-going appeal.
Produced from 1999–2001, the Chimaera uses a 3.9-litre naturally aspirated V8 gasoline engine with an OHV valvetrain, 16 valves and multi-point fuel injection. It produces 232 hp at 5,500 rpm and 260 lb-ft of torque at 4,500 rpm, paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Power reaches the rear wheels, delivering a 0–60 mph time of 4.6 seconds and a 152 mph top speed. With seating for two and 10.9 cubic feet of luggage capacity, it offers practicality alongside its traditional British roadster character.
