MSRP:$2,500 – $5,000
The Korando E20 EL takes a traditional approach to compact SUV design, pairing a short, two-door body with a part-time four-wheel-drive system. Its upright shape and relatively compact dimensions make it easier to manoeuvre than larger off-road vehicles, while the five-seat cabin and flexible luggage area provide useful everyday versatility. The combination of a manual gearbox and conventional off-road hardware gives it a straightforward, driver-involved character.
For 2000–2001, the naturally aspirated 2.0-litre inline-four produces 126 hp and 132 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm. A five-speed manual transmission sends power through the part-time four-wheel-drive system. Double-wishbone front suspension and a live rear axle reflect its rugged mechanical layout, while a listed top speed of 96 mph is consistent with its emphasis on practical utility rather than outright performance.
