2003, 2004, 2005
MSRP:$3,000 – $6,500
With its short-wheelbase body and powerful six-cylinder engine, the Korando E 3.2 offers a distinctive take on the compact off-road SUV. Its two-door layout gives it a purposeful, compact appearance, while the five-seat cabin retains room for passengers. Permanent all-wheel drive and traditional off-road hardware make it more than a road-focused family vehicle, giving it the capability to tackle loose surfaces and demanding routes. The result is a combination of substantial petrol-engine performance and practical four-wheel-drive versatility.
For 2003–2005, the naturally aspirated 3.2-litre inline-six develops 209 hp and 226 lb-ft of torque at 4,700 rpm. A four-speed automatic transmission manages power delivery to all four wheels. Double-wishbone front suspension works with a live rear axle, reflecting the Korando's traditional SUV engineering. Its ability to tow up to 7,716 lbs adds another useful dimension to its role as a compact but capable utility vehicle.
