The facelifted Sirion 1.5 S gave Daihatsu’s compact hatchback a more assertive personality without abandoning the simplicity that made the model useful. Introduced for 2008–2013, the range-topping version brought a larger 1.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder producing 102 hp at 6,000 rpm and 97 lb-ft of torque at 4,400 rpm. The extra displacement sharpened the Sirion’s performance, while its front-wheel-drive layout and compact footprint kept it easy to handle in everyday traffic.
Visually, the S stood apart with a revised front end, body-colored side skirts and a roof spoiler, giving the otherwise practical hatchback a sportier presence. Beneath that styling, the five-door cabin retained its strong versatility, offering 225 to 630 liters of luggage capacity depending on the rear-seat configuration. A 109-mph top speed and 10.2-second 0–60 mph time gave the little Daihatsu enough pace to feel responsive, while its 38-mpg combined economy preserved the model’s sensible everyday character.
