The XKR Coupé entered a new phase of Jaguar’s X100 story when the XK received a larger supercharged V8 and a more capable automatic transmission. Its styling remained unmistakably Jaguar—rounded, elegant and restrained—but the engineering underneath had moved decisively toward stronger performance. The coupé still offered a 2+2 cabin and the relaxed manners of a grand tourer, making it less about outright aggression and more about covering distance quickly while retaining the refinement expected from the marque.
Under the bonnet, the 2002–2005 XKR Coupé carries a supercharged 4.2-liter V8 developing 390 hp and 399 lb-ft of torque. Power reaches the rear wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission, helping the coupé accelerate from 0–60 mph in 5.2 seconds. A 155-mph top speed completes the performance picture, giving this later X100 a noticeable step up in power while preserving its grand-touring character.
