The MG TF 135 brought a sharper sporting character to MG’s lightweight roadster range, combining updated styling with revised suspension and the familiar mid-engine layout. Its compact proportions, two-seat cabin and open-top design kept the emphasis on driver involvement, while rear-wheel drive and balanced weight distribution supported agile handling. Positioned between the standard 1.8i and the more powerful TF 160, the TF 135 offered an engaging blend of accessible performance and classic British roadster appeal.
The 2002–2011 MG F / TF 135 uses a naturally aspirated 1.8-liter inline-four producing 134 hp and 122 lb-ft of torque. A five-speed manual transmission sends power to the rear wheels, allowing the roadster to accelerate from 0–60 mph in 8.5 seconds and 0–62 mph in 8.8 seconds. Top speed reaches 127 mph, while its lightweight construction helps deliver responsive handling and enjoyable open-air driving.
