The McLaren 720S Spider takes the dramatic engineering of the 720S and reshapes it around the experience of open-air performance. Its low nose, sculpted flanks, dihedral doors, and compact rear deck create a striking silhouette, while the retractable roof allows the cabin to become part of the driving experience without losing the car's distinctly technical character. Beneath the styling is McLaren's lightweight carbon-fibre architecture and a chassis developed to balance exceptional agility with the refinement expected from a road-going supercar. The result is a Spider that feels purposeful rather than ornamental, carrying the visual and dynamic character of the 720S into a more immersive format.
For 2019–2023, the 720S Spider uses a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 producing 710 hp and 568 lb-ft of torque. Its 7-speed transmission drives the rear wheels, while the two-seat convertible reaches 212 mph. A 2.8-second 0–60 mph time gives it extraordinary straight-line pace, complemented by double-wishbone suspension designed to keep its responses precise and controlled.
