The Smart Fortwo Cabrio Brabus gives the compact Fortwo formula a sportier personality, combining open-air motoring with an exceptionally small footprint. Its retractable roof suits relaxed drives in good weather, while Brabus styling adds a more assertive look to this two-seat convertible. The rear-mounted engine and rear-wheel-drive layout distinguish it from conventional small convertibles, and its 7.8–12-cubic-foot luggage compartment offers useful flexibility for shopping and everyday essentials. Built around manoeuvrability rather than passenger capacity, it is particularly well suited to urban driving and short leisure trips.
For the 2007–2009 model range, the Fortwo Cabrio Brabus uses a turbocharged 1.0-litre inline-three gasoline engine with double overhead camshafts and 12 valves. It produces 97 hp at 5,500 rpm and 103 lb-ft of torque at 3,250 rpm, paired with the five-speed automatic transmission listed by AutoSpecsHub. Power is delivered to the rear wheels, with a listed top speed of 96 mph and 0–60 mph acceleration in 9.6 seconds. Combined fuel economy is rated at 44.4 mpg, while the listed curb weight is 1,951 lbs.
