The 2020 Suzuki Ignis 1.2 Dualjet Hybrid keeps the model’s distinctive mini-crossover proportions while introducing a revised petrol engine and a more capable mild-hybrid system. Its upright cabin, short overhangs and compact footprint make it particularly well suited to urban driving, where easy manoeuvrability matters as much as interior flexibility. Five doors provide convenient access to the cabin, and the rear seating arrangement can be adjusted to balance passenger space with luggage capacity. Rather than aiming to be a conventional family SUV, the Ignis offers a smaller, lighter alternative with a practical elevated driving position.
Its K12D 1,197 cc engine produces 82 hp and 79 lb·ft of torque at 2,800 rpm. Suzuki’s SHVS system uses energy recovered during deceleration to assist the petrol engine during acceleration, helping reduce fuel consumption without requiring external charging. In this front-wheel-drive version, a five-speed manual gearbox keeps the powertrain simple and direct. Introduced in 2020, the facelifted Ignis also benefits from revised engine technology, including dual fuel injection and an enlarged hybrid battery, making efficiency a central part of its character.
