The 2012 Jeep Wrangler 3.6 V6 brought a significant powertrain update to the compact, three-door Wrangler while keeping the mechanical character that made the model instantly recognizable. Its 95.4-inch wheelbase and live axles front and rear maintained a compact, trail-focused footprint, while part-time four-wheel drive preserved its traditional off-road identity. The naturally aspirated Pentastar V6 added a stronger and more responsive character, making this Wrangler a notable evolution without abandoning the formula that defined it.
For 2012–2018, the Wrangler 3.6 V6 uses a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 producing 280 hp and 252 lb-ft of torque. A 5-speed automatic transmission sends power through 4WD, helping it reach 112 mph and accelerate from 0–60 mph in 7.8 seconds. Its 20.8 mpg combined economy and 4,030-pound curb weight give the compact off-roader a balance of stronger performance and everyday usability.
