The 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 2.2 MultiJet brought diesel power to the new JL-generation four-door Wrangler, combining greater practicality with the rugged architecture expected from the nameplate. Its 118.4-inch wheelbase and five-door layout created useful space for passengers and luggage, while live axles and all-wheel drive maintained its traditional off-road character. The turbocharged diesel also gave the Unlimited a strong torque-focused personality, pairing the Wrangler’s distinctive mechanical character with a more efficiency-minded powertrain.
For 2018–2026, the Wrangler Unlimited 2.2 MultiJet is listed with a turbocharged 2.1-liter inline-four diesel producing 197 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission sends power through AWD, helping it reach 112 mph and accelerate from 0–60 mph in 9.3 seconds. Its 30.6 mpg combined economy and 4,341-pound curb weight give the five-door Wrangler a practical balance of diesel performance, everyday efficiency, and off-road capability.
