The 2018 Jeep Wrangler 2.0 marked the arrival of the JL generation, bringing a newer turbocharged engine and updated engineering to the Wrangler formula without abandoning its unmistakable off-road character. Its compact three-door body, live axles, and longitudinal engine layout kept the vehicle rooted in traditional Jeep architecture, while the turbocharged four-cylinder introduced a more modern approach to power delivery. The result was a Wrangler that combined familiar ruggedness with a more contemporary powertrain.
For 2018–2026, the Wrangler 2.0 uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four gasoline engine producing 268 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission sends power through the listed AWD system, helping the Wrangler reach 110 mph and accelerate from 0–60 mph in 7.1 seconds. Its 26.1 mpg combined economy and 3,821-pound curb weight give the compact off-roader a useful balance of performance and everyday efficiency.
