The Volga 3110-411 shows just how traditional GAZ’s large-sedan formula could remain even in the early 2000s. Its substantial proportions and conservative design were matched by an uncomplicated powertrain, giving the car a distinctly old-school character. Instead of chasing refinement or modern performance, this version stayed focused on straightforward construction and familiar mechanical principles, making it a clear reflection of the practical side of the Volga lineage.
For 2002–2003, the 3110-411 used a naturally aspirated 2.4-liter inline-four producing 80 hp and 123 lb-ft of torque. A five-speed manual transmission drove the rear wheels, while the carbureted OHV engine kept the powertrain particularly simple. The combination of modest output and conventional rear-wheel drive suited the sedan’s relaxed, no-nonsense character.
