The facelifted TT Roadster 1.8 T 190 sat near the upper end of Audi’s front-wheel-drive roadster lineup, using a compact turbocharged engine to give the distinctive two-seater a useful increase in pace. Covering 2005–2006, its 1.8-liter 20-valve four-cylinder produced 187 hp and 173 lb-ft, driving the front wheels through either a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic. With a 142-mph top speed and 7.7-second 0–60 mph time, it offered brisk performance without moving away from the TT’s approachable character.

The facelift brought the Roadster into the later phase of the original TT’s life, but its basic formula remained familiar: compact dimensions, a two-seat cabin and rounded bodywork wrapped around a straightforward chassis. MacPherson-strut front suspension, torsion-beam rear suspension and ventilated front brakes supported its front-driven layout, while the 7.8-cubic-foot luggage area added useful practicality.
