2005–2006 Audi AG TT Roadster 1.8 T quattro 180 Specs & Performance

The quattro version of the first-generation TT Roadster added a more sophisticated drivetrain to Audi’s compact open-top formula. Covering 2005–2006, its turbocharged 1.8-liter 20-valve four-cylinder produced 178 hp and 173 lb-ft, with a six-speed manual sending power through an on-demand all-wheel-drive system. A 140-mph top speed and 7.5-second 0–60 mph time gave the Roadster a useful performance advantage while retaining the distinctive proportions that made the TT immediately recognizable.

The mechanical changes were concentrated beneath the familiar rounded body. A Haldex-based quattro system worked with MacPherson-strut front and multi-link rear suspension, while ventilated front and solid rear discs handled braking duties. The two-seat cabin and 7.8-cubic-foot luggage area kept the car practical enough for everyday use, but the added traction gave this version a different character from the front-wheel-drive TT Roadsters. Its combination of turbocharged power, six-speed gearing and all-weather drivability made it a distinctive member of the 8N Roadster family.
